What the World Needs Now
This time in our lives is filled with paradoxes of struggle and grace, of pressure and relief, growth, and despair. We all continue to be witness to both the magnitude of our troubles, during and throughout the POST COVID process. We have felt terrified as read and/or experience the tragedy of death and illness brought on by the virus. We’ve felt the fear and isolation that has become a standard for living at the present moment, as we venture out and travel more. Entering the world reluctantly and with trepidation. The concerns have affected our health, our well-being, our families, and friends, and has gone on to polarize our world.
Recently, we have seen increases in social disharmony and distrust within the media as the nation acts out its loss of trust in each other and our institutions. We have seen an ongoing disregard for our government and civil leaders. Perhaps because of this fear-based model, we witness the blatant disrespect for each other. We witness this through a growing impatience, often encountered through road rage and a lack of basic regard for one another. We are also witness to an increase in violence, shootings, and assaults. Along with challenges in our economy, increases in drug addiction, overdoses, and mental health challenges. Most, if not all these tragedies come from a sense of disconnection, which in turn causes a disharmony to our minds as humans are born with an innate desire for love and kindness. We can embrace love as the energy of connection. Because love brings Peace, Harmony, Balance, and Hope into our lives.
Are We Losing Love?
Simultaneously, we are witnessing a rarity in history, as Passover, Easter, and Ramadan (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) have fallen on the same day in 2022. This can serve as a reminder that more than ever, we need to CELEBRATE HOPE, and new DIRECTION, gaining a greater PURPOSE, MEANING and perhaps a DEEPER COMMUNITY. We have seen what happens when we lose that sense of connection; we lose a sense of affection, compassion, and LOVE!
Now, more than ever we need to REMEMBER the words of John Lennon and Paul McCartney “All you need is LOVE!” And while they were written in 1967, they remain relevant as ever.
We Still Do!
Love is better given, rather than received. How does that work? Well, love is not logical. Love is not found in thought, and it is not earned or deserved. The only true way to get it, is to give it. Similar to the nature of breathing, you must exhale to inhale; one movement creates another movement. There is no waiting to see where our next breath of air will come from. Breathe and you will breathe again, at least until you are no longer meant to. The same phenomenon holds true for Love; you must give it to get it. If you sit in an empty hole, waiting for it to be filled with LOVE, “Guess what??” The hole will remain empty and will inevitably grow larger. I once heard that the MIND will CREATE the hole, while a giving, loving heart will FILL it.
So go out into the world, find someone who needs it and give it away without condition, expectation, or desire, and without their awareness. Just BLESS them, GIVE it to those who need it most; the troubled, the irritating, the impatient, and the frustrated. Bless them with GRACE, PATIENCE, and HOPE. And if you’re so inclined, do it with a PRAYER as well. GIVE in the form of a thought with intention and positive energy.
Watch what happens in your life and become a witness to the MIRACLE of LOVE!
